About the Rubber gloves- actually I've never heard or seen them with a pink
lining though they may well exist. What I have seen are those with a black
outside and an orange inside. In fact, my very first mouthpiece patch was
made of a pair of those very gloves. They don't require an adhesive (at least
on hard rubber mouthpieces) You just cut a square, stick it in your mouth and
then stick it on the mouthpiece in the desired location. When it wears thin
where your teeth make contact you just cut another piece- instead of paying
for each individual guard you have a set of gloves to keep cutting squares out
of. I don't know how to get them now- I use double lip- but they certainly
weren't expensive when I did use them. I would check in the cleaning supplies
section of the supermarket. BTW- another Marcellus story. I heard that he
used to use the gloves with the black side against the mouthpiece- leaving the
orange (or pink) side out. Apparently he played at least one performance like
that and it looked like he was bleeding- or had pretty odd lips.....
