Although there may not have been in Mr. Marcellus' time, there are several
companies (Bay and Runyon off the top of my head) marketing pre-cut
mouthpiece patches, of either rubber or vinyl, that would most likely be
easier to deal with than the rubber gloves. I doubt that the tone would be
negatively affected by using these inferior substitutes for jury-rigged
rubber glove material. I swear by the vinyl ones, myself. The gloves in
question are probably designed for use by plumbers, sewer workers, acid
handlers, etc. Maybe some of them have some old used ones they could send
for us to try. :-)
