No negative effects vis-a-vis playing but the area around the jaw line swells
up. In my case it didn't totally return to normal.
So if you have model good looks (high cheek bones, sunken cheeks) I'd
reconsider the operation.
But seriously, the chances of severing a nerve to the bottom lip are not low.
I know a former professional principal clarinet in a major Canadian orchestra
who lost the feeling in half of his lower lip due to a wisdom tooth
extraction.
He had to stop playing.
If you are having 4 taken out give yourself at least 2 weeks off.
