No offense intended, but unless the work was originally for clarinet
choir and not a transcription, the arranger was nuts. There is no reason
to arrange above a high D above the staff for Contra-Alto Clarinet. We
have many clarinets within the clarinet choir that can handle that range
much more successfully and with better tone and intonation than an Eb CA.

Which piece are you referring to Edmund?
