I have a question regarding several pitch changes in the 1st mov. of the
Poulenc. I have a few recordings of this piece, and have noticed that some
very reputable players have changed notes (1 measure bef. 2, 3rd beat
changed to e natural; 4th bar of 2, 1st beat changed to e natural; 4th bar
of reh. 3, 1st beat changed to c#). I have heard these (or similar) changes
for quite some time now, going back to the first recording I ever bought in
high school.

What is the basis for these note changes? Are they typos in the Chester edition?

Thanks in advance.

Frank
