To all,
In the wind Ensemble that I am in right now, we are playing a piece by reed.
Each time we rehearse this piece, I feel nauseous (sp?) I have felt fine,
physically, but twice a week (each time we rehearse the piece as a group), I
get sick. Also, on the few occasions that I have tried to practice this
piece on my own, I cannot do it because I begin to feel sick. I know that
some music can make me feel very good, so it goes hand-in-hand that other
types of music can make me feel very bad... I was just wondering if anybody
else has experienced this 'phenomenon', and if so... what do you do?
For those who take offense to this, I do not mean to bash Reed's
abilities as a composer. In fact, there are other pieces of his that I
enjoy. I am also not bashing the piece because it is for wind ensemble, as
I enjoy numerous pieces written for wind ensemble. I apologize in advance
for anybody else's feelings that I may have hurt.

Ever Yours,
Ryan Lowe
