I bought a clarinet with an alternate key a little over a year ago and love it.
When I bought it the teacher I was with believed that I should try to use that
key whenever it was in combonation with a C/F since most clarinet players
prefer to use right hand c when ever possible. I agreed with his logic.
occasionally it was not benificial to do that so I used right hand Eb. My new
teacher does not like the Eb key at all so I avoid it in lessons except when
I am avoiding a slide, but I use it quite a bit in Wind Ensamble and Concert
