Well, when I had the alternate key, I never really took advantage of it
too much. I believe you should stick with using the usual keys more
often; at least learn to play the passages both ways--my reasoning behind
this is that you never know when you may find yourself playing the same
part on a horn with that key. It's also good to know both ways in case
the key breaks during a performance. ^_^

But for the most part, _I_ don't see any major negative drawbacks.
