I own this recording, and have always liked it - likewise the Weber
#2/Spohr #1 recording. the last mvt of the Mozart really dances, as I
recall. Of course I have a small child, so my memory is now shot!

I also fed my love of chamber music on all his Melos ensemble recordings.
In an age when American clarinetists were all playing like soloists 100%
of the time, DePeyer was tuning and blending beautifully, coming out in
the solo passages, and blending into the texture when that was called
for. As a student, I learned a lot from those recordings.

Most of us should play so badly.
