I use Saran Wrap myself. Many clarinets, including my Selmer Series 10,
have key mechanisms like this. They are more positive than others, like on
Bundys and Selmer Signets, for example, since they remain mechanically
linked on both attack and release of the key. The original material used
in such a joint was fish skin. I like the Saran Wrap better, and don't
consider it a temporary fix. It seems to last longer than the skin!
