Subj: Howarths VS Leblanc

I have tried the Howarths and found that they play on the small
side.(speaking of the tone) I also found the intonation a little out of wack
as well. I tried two of them and about twenty buffets before I started trying
leblancs. I now play on leblancs and I love it. The registers are even and
the intonation is in the ballbark and it projects very well in orchestra.
Before I bought a Leblanc I brought it to orchestra to see if anyone noticed a
difference. I played a solo the first time on my Buffet and then I played it
on the Leblanc I was thinking about buying. After I was done playing,
everyone in the section asked me what the hell I did different the second
time. They said that it was easier to find me pitch wise and that it sounded
so much better. After that i bought the horn. For some reason the A
clarinets made from leblanc seem to me to be better than the Bb. I dont know
why maybe its just me.
