In a message dated 97-11-30 02:31:30 EST, you write:

<<
Since you like crystal mouthpieces, have you tried a Pomerico? The first
crystal I ever tried was a Vandoren A1. All of my "compatriots" told me
that they thought it changed my tone for the better, but I wrestled with it
in regards to back pressure and ease of playing in the altissimo register.
A friend loaned me a Pomerico 1+, which cleared up all the problems I had
with the Vandoren, but still had all the good qualities that I switched to
a crystal for in the first place.

I sure haven't, although its worth taking a look at! There is a rumor going
around that Vandoren is about to stop producing crystal mouthpieces, so i'd
be looking for a spare.. What do you think attributes that? Do you think
the mouthpiece is possibly lighter than the Vandoren? I'll certainly look
into that, thanks for your response!
For anyone who may know this: i'm interested in experimenting with a crystal
mouthpiece for my bass, any recommendations? Thanx
