Sean,

I also own a Yamaha with the same problem. I suggest that you have a
repairman fix it, but if not... I have an easy solution. About 8 years
ago, I used a small round piece of plastic from a Vandoran reed box and if
still works just fine. Take off the lever, fold the plastic over the end,
then slide the lever back on while holding the plastic in place. The
plastic will bunch up, but that is what keeps it there and working for so
long! Some of it will be sticking out of the sides, so either leave it or
trim it down (not too far) with an exacto knife. Mine has never worn out
or fallen out.

It the hole in the lever is really large, a small piece of rubber tube can
be fitted over the end. I have only seen one horn where this is the case!
