Sean,
Sounds like you're doing the repairs yourself. I might
respectfully suggest that it's time to find a great technician, like the
one I take my horns to, and ask him/her to fix the problem by drilling a
tiny hole in the metal and inserting a plug of teflon-like material. This
would a) not fall out and b) not mush down and disintegrate (like cork). I
have had these put in on my instrument (my repairman thought of the idea)
an they work wonderfully. Just a suggestion. PS. I am in Maryland, so
unless you're pretty near, you might want to try to find someone closer to
home.
