Oh come on ... elementary players need these things. (I first played
the divertimenti in that configuration, back in the 60s ;-)

You send out transcription police and I'll send out authentic
instruments police. I heard one of those divertimenti (no. 4, IIRC)
last Friday on repros of an approx 1800 basset horn. It was an
absolutely ravishing sound: accept no substitute, I say ;-)
