Demagnetizing heads will not affect wow and flutter, although cleaning them
will, since it will reduce friction on the heads. Actually, the process of
recording itself demagnetizes heads. Continual playback causes
magnetization of the heads. So demagnetize the heads on your car stereo so
you don't slowly erase your tapes.
