A release for partial duplication must be received.....however, most of
what goes on in academia (photocopying for coursepacks, etc.) is blatantly
illegal. Some universities look the other way....ours just happens to
frown on it and regularly publishes material that states what is
acceptable and unacceptable. If one page is copied for thirty
students....it is acceptable - if an entire chapter is copied, that is
another story. There is a gray area there that allows lawyers to get
rich....and believe me.....they do. The best bet is to require the text
and not copy.

It is a good subject to be discussing....Craig did us all
a favor...and I appreciate his response a while back apologizing....no
need to apologize! Glad everyone is getting educated on it!
