Craig,

From what I have gathered from teachers and observed myself, it is a
good idea to take it in for a check-up and/or tune-up. In a sense,
clarinets are like cars -- as reliable and dependable as they are, they
were made by human hands, meaning they are not completely perfect.
There may be the tiniest thing wrong with your instrument that you may
have not even picked up on. I might suggest maybe having your instructor
do a lookover on it, just to be sure there isn't anything wrong with your
instrument or something small that could become a major problem later on.
