By your use of the word flutter, I assume that you know that tape decks are
measured in measurements of "wow, and flutter". It as well, could be the
length of the tape.

Subject: distortion when recording clarinet
As an aside to the recent thread about recording theory and technology;
when you record the clarinet and and play back a cassette, and hear a
flutter on the tape that you didn't hear on the DAT master, is this the
playback system, the cassette tape or something else?
