Yes, you are mistaken. You may not, for any reason, copy or reproduce a
work that is in copyright without written permission from the copyright
holder. Often that copyright holder will place a limitation on the number
of performances, ask for a copy of the program, and, if there is a fee to
attend the concert (which you say is not a problem in your case) will ask
for a percentage. Proper citation is provided by the copyright holder and
should appear on both the music and the program.
The odds that a non-for-profit transcription of a copyrighted piece will
be prosecuted are slim......copyright holders usually go after the big
guys....but you are smart and honest to keep them involved. Sounds like
you are!
