It would seem to me that copyright laws applying to musical works are
quite similar to copyright laws of other literature (with a few unique
variations). Just like when we write those wonderful research papers and
all that, we cite the works of others, to avoid plagiarism (sp?). So for
transcribing, I don't see how the rules would be any different... let me
know if I have no idea what I'm talking about and am just rambling
aimlessly.
