I doubt that this is a very good source for copyright information.

If the piece is more than 75 years old, and you are not working from a more
recent edited and copyrighted edition, you can probably do what ever you
want.

If the piece is less than 75 years old and you own a copy, you can probably
transcribe it for your own personal use (not including public performance,
further distribution, etc.)

There is some copyright information on the web, and I think some references
to it on sneezy. There is also some at http://www.mpa.org

Copyrights?
I always do site the source of the MIDI file and who sequenced it where
applicable. There are a lot of changes that do have to be made, so it
is really not an infringement on anything...
