I have a request on behalf of my clarinet teacher, Knut Lauritzen, who
plays with the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra. Knut will be visiting
Manhattan and San Francisco on his way to Hawaii to run in the Honolulu
Marathon. (He is a man of many talents). He is interested in visiting
large music stores in NYC and San Francisco. He is particularly interested
in "Big Band" arrangements. Can anyone recommend stores for him to visit,
along with addresses or phone numbers?

By the way, I have just received my new Buffet RC Prestige that I ordered
direct from Paris. I decided to purchase the Prestige based primarily on
advice from my teacher, but also from comments that I have read on this
list. Not only did I get a great price, it is a beautiful instrument with
a really nice feel and a superb sound. The only limitation that I now face
is my own ability... which is improving almost daily through practice,
lessons and the things I learn from this list. Thanks for all the help and
advice.
