Check with your orchestral librarian for the part in A. I have copies in
both keys. BTW, I do prefer to play it on A, except for the cadenza on
Bb. I first learned the cadenza on Bb and now working on the A part seems
very strange.

At the risk of flames from those on the list who do not believe in
correcting spelling and usage, the correct usage for the first clarinet
player in an orchestra is principal. Speaking (or writing) from
experience, there are other forums where using the wrong form could, at the
least, be extremely embarrassing or even cost you a job.
