David Newman went to Curtis. Played in the Columbus Sym. before getting the
San F job. Interesting story was when David applied to San F. they turned
his resume down, saying the Comlubus was not big enough for them. Gigliotti
interceeded, and the rest is history. Dave is from Phila.

David Neuman (sp?) from San Francisco won the audition. The first runner
up was Pascual Martinez, an advanced studies student from the University of
Southern California, and second runner up was Ivan Garcia from the Naples
(Florida) Symphony. Note, Ivan graduated a couple of years ago from USC.
