Geez, what a shock! I moved away from Michigan 4 months ago and grew up
listening to 105.1. It was really a good station...the last thing Detroit
needs is ANOTHER rock station. They have at least 10 or so now!

BTW-Although I think that it is a shame that the WQRS in Detroit is
closing, I feel Michigan is quite rich with opportunities to hear classical
music both live and on the air. Compared to other states, Michigan has
quite a few independant cultural centers (Detroit, Ann Arbor, Lansing,
Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, Muskegon, Mt. Pleasant) which offer live
performances very frequently at both the college and professional levels.
All of these places (the farthest between any two of the cities being about
4 hours) have classical radio stations.
