Hi Gary,

Just a couple of weeks a group of students of my performed the first
movement of the Symphonie des Clarinettes (Eb clarinet, 2 Bb clarinets,
Alto, Bass and Contrabass clarinet) of Desiree Dondeyne.

Before that I never heard of this composer. I've found the piece this summer
at Vandoren in Paris.

But I can tell you that I - and my students - really liked her style, it's
realy pleasant to listen to and to play. You can compare her I think with
i.e. Yvonne Desportes, from her we played last year Caracteres for the same
ensemble as above.

You can find Caracteres of Desportes on a cd I like very much:

Claritmico (sextuor de Clarinettes) with soloist Eduard Brunner - (BM-CD
31.9040 Antes Edtion - Bella Musica - Buhl/Baden)

On this CD there is also a nice Quatuor pour Clarinettes of Marco Putz.=20
=20
Besides modern music you can find some Crusell, Corelli, Vivaldi (with flute
solo) and B@-----.

The "titlesong" Claritmico with Brunner as soloist is very vidid and
capriccio. It must be very fun to play, but it is not been published yet. If
it is in print I will tell because it's typical a piece to get your audience
smile!

If someone knows about music or cd's for clarinetsextet please let me know.

greetings from Holland,

john
