Here, you have not made a statement about Beethoven or any of the other
composers you listed, but rather a statement about yourself.

As I understand this, you are saying that orchestras fail because they
play the orchestral repertoire. Is that what you intend to say? I must
comment that I have always been amazed by the number of people who are not
involved in orchestras who are immediately ready to prognosticate about
the causes and solutions of problems in the orchestral world and the world
of music in general.

The answer lies in your two previous statements. Keep thinking about it,
and keep listening to music of all kinds. Eventually, if you are a
musician, and if you are honest with yourself, you will understand.
