The problems with this question is that it assumes that the *only*
difference between instruments is the material. I know of only two possible
situations where this *may* apply: regular R-13 and the R-13 greenline and
Howarth which advertises professional instruments made from either wood or
ABS.

So, there *are* clarinets available in wood (of various types),
plastic/resin, and metal. Can someone who owns (or has access to) both a
metal clarinet and a plastic clarinet tell us if they sound different?
