I don't see anything wrong with not liking a particular medium......and if
it is a decision not to like something after having heard good musicians
and watching good conductors and even participating in good wind ensembles
with good repertoire/conductors - you made a decision based on many
experiences. I guess I just wouldn't be surprised if people find the
attitude snobby! A lot of people don't like Mahler and Strauss - I even
have a colleague who doesn't like Rachmaninoff .........that's fine with
me. I often wonder however why people limit their appreciation for
something? Just a curiosity.....not a statement about what likes and
dislikes make a person a good, well-rounded musician.
