I appreciate the general support, but be careful about trashing orchestral
transcriptions. I love playing them and, while I concede that they may
fall short of the originals, they still form a vital portion of the band
repertoire, and an important link to orchestral tradition. Holst and
Granger are great, but a little transcribed Rossini never hurt anybody,
including Rossini! :-)
