I was just selected as first clarinet (parts are predetermined) in the HEIBA
Honor Band. Last year they had me for 3rd part (which was a slap in the
face), but I got first chair. So this year they put me on first. i can
handle the music and hope to get first chair. (i've been first chair in all
my other honor bands, orchestras, and music camps). However, there is a part
in one song (Symphony Nr.1 "The Lord of the Rings" by Johan de Meij Movement
V: "Hobbits"). it has a clarion registerhigh Bb to G temolo. I have no idea
how to execute this fingering successfully. Any ideas would be greatly
appreciated.
