In a message dated 97-11-13 20:37:30 EST, you write:

<< Where do you order one? What kind of microphone setup (high/low
impedence) do they require? Do they need a preamp or phantom power?

Basic cost?

I got mine at a place called Circuit City - It is a Sony and cost 299.99.
There are places in NY which sell them also but I dont care to order
equipment like that by mail Mine has no mike inputs so you will need a mixer.
I use mine to transfer a large collection of cassetts and reel to reel tapes
of performing groups I've been in or have recorded - things I want to keep.
AS for mikes, I'd get the best you can afford because the quality is very
fine. Phantom power would only be needed if you use condensor mikes. Dynamics
dont need power but they usually are not as good. Hope this helps some - I
really love this thing - my disc bill is sky high. A 74 min costs about 10.00
