Aside from living next door to a university library, what could be better
than the internet itself?

I found a fairly long bio of Nelhybel at this record lable web site:

Subject: Research Sources

This question is for the active music researchers on the list. I needed to
do brief program notes for a local orchestra this week. When I tried to
find
material at home on Vaclav Nelhybel, I realized how out-of-date my
reference
materials here at home are. I'm using a 1971 edition (Slonimsky) of
Baker's,
a 1973 printing of Harvard Dictionary (Apel), as well as a couple of Who's
Who books the latest of which is a 1980 edition. I know that I would need
to
spend time in a library for major research, which I haven't been involved
with for many years. But for quick and dirty home use like these notes
(which I was doing gratis and on a close deadline), what would be my best
upgrades in research tools if I were, for example, hinting around the
family
for Christmas presents?
