As far as choosing which clarinet to buy, I agree with you who say
it's up to the person who will play that horn. A fellow student tried
out countless Buffets before she found the one that was right for her.
My Noblet was bought at a flea market for $45. I had the horn
overhauled and it sounds great! In fact, I am the only clarinetist in
my instructor's studio who DOES NOT play a Buffet. He told me there
was no reason to waste money on another horn when I already had one
that suited me best.

Which brings me to my second point. Why do people buy new cars? Is
it because the old one does not run anymore or that they want to
impress their friends?
