My throat Bb sounds as good as any other note on the horn....I just use
the appropriate color fingering and voice the note correctly. There are
adjustments and compromises with every design of instrument....the R-13
Prestige I play on has wonderful throat Bb's without compromising other
notes.

That's why we clarinetists tolerate a non-voiced throat Bb.
