 I think it is less like choosing reeds and more like choosing cars.  Some
 people will buy nothing but Fords and wouldn't be caught dead in a Chevy,
 and some just as adamantly insist upon Chevies.  Sometimes it is for no
 better reason than "My daddy always drove Fords" (See how much that sounds
 like "My teacher recommends Buffets"?).  As long as you have done your
 homework, shopped around, tried many horns, and independently come to
 prefer a particular brand and model, you have the right to proclaim ONLY
 that that particular one works FOR YOU.  Yes, that increases the odds that
 it might work for someone else, too, but that's as far as it goes.  If one
 company has 50% of a given market, it does not mean that the rest of the
 people are fools, only that they are looking for something different.
