In a message dated 97-11-04 00:44:30 EST, you write:

<< I can give you a yes or no answer. Neither. Instead of wondering which
brand you should buy, Leblanc or Selmer, you should be wondering what
model of Buffet you should buy.

Buffets aren't for everyone. Before these newer models of Leblanc, etc. came
out, not too many other brands were as good as the Buffets, according to my
teacher. But these newer horns are meeting the neeeds of many professionals.
It is all a matter of personal taste. I own a leblanc Concerto, and I prefer
it over my R-13. Just because Buffets were "the legendary choice of
professionals" doesn't mean they are the only thing anymore that is of
exceptional quality. Some people, are still slightly closed-minded to the
fact that there are other horns. (This was not meant to be rude, so I
apologize if it comes off that way.)
