It's _got_ to be the Gade piece. I just started work on it, too.
My edition is the Wilhelm Hansen Edition, and I just purchased it.
(There's been rumors that it's no longer in print. Mine's not yellowed
at all, and commanded a hefty price, so I _think_ it's still in print).
As to being easier than the Schumann - I sure hope so. I've only
been playing clarinet for 9 months!

The edition looks identical to my teacher's older Kalmus edition -
including aggravating "courtesy" accidentals - in completely
unnecessary places - naturals where there's been no accidental
ever, or a courtesy accidental 5 or 6 measures away from the last
time an accidental occured, or completely unnecessary accidentals
(the first part is in G - why put a sharp on an F? Makes me want to
double sharp it!)
