No one brand is better than the other. Different brands suit different
players. Also each brand makes several models so that you need to include
the model when comparing. For example comparing a student grade Selmer to
the Leblanc Concerto, the latter would win. Yet if you take a student
grade Leblanc and compare to Selmer's top pro horn, the latter of these
two would win.

When you evaluate comparable models from the major manufacturer's, it
boils down to personal preference. Many people have very strong personal
preferences, including me, but this does not make one better than the
other.

My question is why should this make any difference in getting ready for
the Christmas concert? The players must learn to blend and the players
own abilities make far more difference than the brand of clarinet.
