At the "Europaeisches Musikfest 1997" this summer in Stuttgart (Germany),
Paul Meyer played the Brahms Quintet together with the "Leipziger
Streichquartett" in an afternoon concert. The highlight was the wonderful
2nd movement which they ended with a long and really breathtaking
diminuendo.
After the concert, there was a public interview with Paul Meyer and also
opportunity for questions from the audience. The interviewer and the well
german speaking P.M. were a little disappointed because the first question
from the audience was not the expected question about his relation to Sabine
and Wolfgang Meyer, but P.M. announced for the next year a series of concerts
under the title "Meyer, Meyer and Meyer" (or something similar, I don't
remember exactly) where they plan to do e.g. the Mozart trios KV 439b and
the Poulenc Sonata for two clarinets. So I think it's the same stuff which is
normally played by the "Trio di Clarone" (Sabine and Wolfgang Meyer with
Rainer Wehle). He also told where this concerts take place but unfortunately
I don't remember.

Peter.
