I'm posting on this list, in addition to sax list, as I know many of you
have expertise also w/sax literature. I have a student-high school
senior-who was just accepted into Iowa All-State Band-tenor sax; practices
diligently. This is the list of solos she has performed and earned 1st
ratings at solo contests. I'm looking for advice on a solo for her to
prepare her senior year for solo contest (March).

6th grade-Gavotte, Martini, arr. Beldon Leonard
7th-Adagio and Presto, Michel Blavet, arr. Lyle Merriman
8th-Suite in C Minor, @-----. Quinto Maganini
9th-Sonata by Handel, Handel
10th-Concerto, Burnet Tuthill
11th-Fantasia, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Mvts 1, II
Is there an orchestral accompaniment to the Villa-Lobos? If not, do you
have suggestions on another major solo she could prepare/memorize to
audition for a concerto competion in early January.
