I am not a pro clarinettist but I tried the latest (2 years ago) French
low C bass clarinets. THe Selmer 33 and Buffet Prestige were very, very
alike, very flexible instruments with great tone and pitch. I
ultimately bought the Prestige as it was $1000 cheaper. The LeBlanc had
an easier repsonse and a lighter touch but I did not like the tone as
much and felt it was less flexible, in terms of being able to make many
timbres. Any of them will do you well.
