If this is indeed the case, then the advertising blurb about them being
"acoustical twins" is a baldface lie! But if the acoustical design
(barrels, bores, undercutting, etc.) is identical, then the tone will be
identical, too, barring only normal horn-to-horn variation. I'll wager the
advertising copywriter is not a clarinettist, and probably would not be
able to consistently distinguish between a clarinet and an oboe on sight,
so what would he know? It is either a desperate attempt to create
distinguishing characteristics where none exist for purely marketing
purposes, or they don't have a clue what they are talking about.
