Embouchure serves the same function, but behaves differently for different
applications.....use of some muscles in the embouchure are required for
faster playing, and the oppositte is true as well. However, what the
first post said was not that it didn't serve the same function in fast or
slow passages but that it requires fast and slow exercises.....a
completely different meaning than the second post. Like a swimmer swims
distance, sprints, and isolation strokes, so an embouchure can make great
use of different kinds of exercises...both fast and slow......long tones
are excellent slow exercises for this set of muscles.
