Dear me!

The Toronto Symphony was going on tour to Japan. It promised to be
exciting since our Japanese conductor, Seiji Ozawa, was leading us.
Each one of us received a little card signed by him, to take care of us,
as we were his guests.
He was well known in Japan. So was his brother, a famous actor.

Japan, of course, was exciting. The new sights, the atmosphere.
I'm not going to tell you about that.
I wanted to tell you of a trip we made to see some Pagodas and a big
beautiful park.
After seeing a few such pagodas and rambling in the park, I set to go
home.
I walked a bit in this park, full of graceful deer. Beautiful animals.
Nobody molested them. They felt at home. They were at home.
Anyway, after some walking I got hungry and thirsty.
I spied a little kiosk. People standing around it.
I went in and looked to see what I could buy to eat.
Mostly cookies of some sort, wrapped in fancy paper.
So I bought a package of cookies and the equivalent of a coke.
I started munching on these cookies, when I saw, Ruth Budd, our bass
player.

I went over to her and said," Ruth, if I didn't know any better, I would
have thought these cookies were made of mud."

She said," Those are cookies they feed the deer".

"The same thing happened to me", she said." I bought these cookies, was
eating them and being friendly, I offered the people standing around
some of the cookies"

"They all smiled graciously and shook their heads politely."

Dear deer have to eat also!
