A beginner on a Vandoren 3? I am impressed! However, I have not
come across this problem, so can only guess that it could be caused
by the reed being too hard. My only thought is, if you are the
teacher, YOU should be recommending the reed strength. Heck, how
would the supervisor know how the student is getting on with the
reed? You are surely closer.
