I was pretty frightened by this message. Zonda reeds are fairly new on
the market (maybe two years or so), but have received a lot of favorable
comment on this list and in other forums.
It so happens that they cost more than $1.50 each, but I must admit that I
have never noticed much of a correlation between the cost of a reed and
its effectiveness.
In my opinion, and in the opinion of many others, the Zonda reeds are
among the half-dozen or so brands which professional-level players can
consider. I'm currently using them exclusively on both clarinet and
saxophone. I would recommend giving them a try.
