Last year, when I was Head Librarian for my school band we used Claris
Works's Database Documents to store all the information. I found they
were very easy to use, edit, etc. This isn't a music specific program,
but it serves the function quite well. We own about 700 titles of
concert band music, 600 titles of marching band, and 150 titles of jazz
band, in addition to method books, solos, and ensembles.

It was all at our finger types findable by title, composer, publisher,
arranger, or type. A great resource... however, while as head librarian
I made a ton of changes in the organization of music on shelves, the
database was pretty much done, barring new pieces we ordered and taking
inventory of what we actually had. This was certainly lucky for me,
because entering all of that must have been a nightmare.
