A quick internet search produced a birthday for Pete Fountain of July 3,
1930.

I was disturbed by the thought that I had almost caught up to Pete in age!

although in the jazz swing category- pete fountain has some great cds that
show the mastery of improvisational jazz- excellent in technical abilty-
tone-
and above all his voicing of the pieces-as a clarinet player since age 13-
now
53- he impressed me and still does.
